RHCF Uganda’ vision over the current situation is to raise the percentage of clean safe water, Hygiene and sanitation by at least 5% each year, through construction of clean safe water sources, sanitation facilities for young children in schools, so that water will be available and accessible for year round and children are able to attend schools when they are enjoying and health, people will have time for agriculture and the traditional ponds will serve as the Agriculture irrigation
Rural Health Care Foundation Uganda is kindly requesting € 52794.88 for six months to construct water sources and improving sanitation conditions in the poor public schools and communities through using the Community led total sanitation approach (CLTS)
We are proposing to construct six school pit latrine at the primary schools and, 4 water sources serving both school, and the communities, there will be trained water user committees for the sustainability of the project

In African societies, it is women and children facing a hard time of to collect water in far distances.
And also in sub-Saharan region in Africa were Uganda is inclusive, it is said the leading factor towards mortality rate in children are waterborne illness and similarly the top opportunistic infections in HIV infected people are water related illnesses.
As this project’s broad objective is to provide clean safe water to rural community, it will highly benefit children, Women and People living with HIV/AIDS.
Also this project is aimed more of empowering the girl child education.
Community mobilization seminars are the key activities and by RHCF experience, this is when all members are called to work together for a life benefit. We expect full community participation that shows project ownership.
Local leaders, Parents and Teachers association do participate mostly in Mobilization and during decision making.
This project belongs to the community because right from seminars, trainings, demonstrations, constructions, to feedback meetings, all will be done and participated by all members’ right from local leaders to all men, women, and children.
6. Monitoring and evaluation
Monitoring is done from 1st day of the project basing on daily, weekly, and monthly reporting is done by the hygiene and sanitation promoter with the field officer reporting on done activities with their success and problems encountered.
2 Feedback meetings par village per year is to be done by RHCF Executive Director with a main focus on the project outcome and challenges. Feedback meetings are direct discussions done by sampled community members giving information in comparison of the time before the project and time after the project to the discussion time.
Bi-annual and annual reports are done by RHCF Executive director with the support of accountant and programs officer. Information is gathered from community feedbacks, and monthly reports.
Well designed monitoring tools are used to capture both quantitative and qualitative data with a clear visibility study
7. Project impact
At the end of one year RHCF will observe.
-High community use of clean safe water in the selected schools that will reduce distances at which children walk to get clean safe water.
For example children in homes are sent to get water in far distances which reduces school attendance. And girls miss classes during mistral periods because of lack of structures ensuring their privacy at school.
-We expect to increase school attendance by from 10 to 15% in a period of 1year. -- - There will be a 10-15%reduction of water accidents like drowning in open ponds in a period of 1year. ( This will be recorded and measured through community feed backs during feedback meetings.)
-There will be reduction on incidents of water related illnesses of at least 5% each year. Measured by medical records at the surrounding health centres.
